Argh so last Monday...i got violated...baaad..

Now if you use Ebay then you probably get a ton of phishing-scheme emails. I've been using ebay since 1998, so I've seen them from way back when they were ghetto plain text emails to now where they try to tell you that they "won your auction" for something that you didnt' post. Or all the Paypal scams where they say "a new email address has been added to your paypal account", all in the effort that you'll click the link in the email and stupidly give out your PW.

I've never, ever clicked that crap.

Anyway, so on MOnday I got THIRTY of such emails saying that I posted up new auctions. I didn't think anything of it, but I was annoyed that my inbox was flooded. So I started deleting stuff and then decided that since that was pretty odd to get spammed that much, I should double check my account (had they not put so many, I probably wouldn't even have logged into my ebay account).

Well...true to form, there WERE 30 new auctions. All for some Chanel purse. My account bill was over $100. I FREAKED OUT.

I loooove ebay (well, i used to, not so much anymore because I feel like it's deviated from it's original intention, but that's another blog for another time). So this was true rape-age.

Ebay doesn't have any 1-800 numbers...you have to use their online form thingy...and then I had a live operator pop up and say she was going to call me...I was in HYSTERICS...okay sortof exaggerating but it works better for the sake of the story...anyway, she immediately was like "okay obviously you didn't post all those purses" so I got credited asap...but I was like "wtf, I've NEVER clicked a phishing scheme email, how did they get in?"...

Ohhh, those bastards have gotten GOOD. So lots of times when you're on ebay it'll ask you for your PW...i never think anything of it, becuase the way i GOT to the site was by manually typing it in...so i know the address is legit...well basically jackasses run scripts on their auctions so that it automatically makes a fake login page, and yeah stupid me probably fell for it one night or something. The way Ebay is getting around that is by creating an application that runs all the time, so when you're on the web whenever you enter a pw it'll say "btw, this isn't a true ebay site"...it's annoying, but it's better than nothing...

Later, when I logged into Ebay with a new reset pw, it started asking all these security questions...geezus i answered that stuff in 1998! I clearly didn't know the answers (even to what i put for my first school, 'cause it wouldn't accept my answers)...but fortunately it wasn't a big deal...

My big issue was my paypal account...'cuase that crap is linked to my bank account...but it wouldn't let me delete my accounts so I had to call them, and they temporarily suspended my account...but now I gotta haul ass, go home, and enter my account info 'cause they'll totally disable my account in 48 hours if i don't do that.

I'm soooo annoyed. I mean, i almost got robbed of my account if they had changed the pw (dumbasses, if they logged in they should have changed the pw sot hat i couldn't get in and change it again), nor should they have posted so much stuff (well they did BUy It Now so i guess they hoped that people would click that before I had a chance to correct the error)...
