Ice ice baby

I know, I know, it's been ages since I've written.

Not that I'm sure anyone even reads this, but whatever...sometimes, you gotta get crap off your chest.

I meant to write more, but the past few weeks my Random Thoughts and Gripes were about work, which of course I couldn't write about without writing myself my own termination notice.

Anyway, thankfully that's all done and now I can focus on normality again.

Since I've been working late or doing stuff after work, along with all the TV reruns, I find the only way I can get my daily TV fix is by watching Nick At Night...

You have no idea how much I love the Cosby Show. And Fresh Prince. And what's said is how I still remember that intro rap to Fresh Prince.

But Cosby Show is SO timeless in its cheesy family humor. Like when Theo lied about why he didn't get to eat dinner with his team so Claire actually takes him to "court"...or when Rudy has her first day of school and made her tunafish sandwiches two weeks previous....

Genious. Pure genius.

Although it's pretty funny how times have changed. Like both Cliff and Claire come home around the times their kids come home (which to me would mean 4ish)...pfft SO not happening. Everyone I know who has kids, if they ahve dinner together, have to eat at 8pm because that's factoring in getting off work at 5 or 6 and then dealing with traffic.

And come to think of it, what if Rudy got home from school first? Hmmm...

I have serious issues with the way we work. Today a coworker was talking about how in Europe they get so much time off, blah blah....well yeah that's all great in theory but if the US is supposed to get the leader in everything economically, you're not gonna be that way if you're taking 2 months off for vacation or daily siestas. Don't get me wrong...i couldn't care a less if i'm in a country that's the #1 powerhorse of the world. BUT...if you're gonna live here, don't think that this country could survive working slacker hours like other countries. Because Lord help us all if we should actually learn to ENJOY life here.

Disgruntled much? Oh yes very much. I did the math of whenever (if ever) I should have kids, the cost of childcare...well even if i count EXACTLY 8 hours of work (which is do-able, because my husband leaves work an hour and a half after i do) which is rare because people have to factor in commuting...omg the cost of childcare is astronomical. Grumble grumble.

This is all random babbling, becuase it's almost 5pm on a Friday afternoon and I would leave work NOW if my boss didn't decide to suddenly come in on her day off.
