What cracks me up is the big blond guy, Titan (who actually has been on over 400 magazine covers and was in the original Gladiators as a backup) reminds me of the blond skier from the South Park "Asspen" episode (the guy who calls Stan "Stan Darsh" and challenges him to a ski match)
The guy in the middle:

One of my all-time favorite movies is Running Man (and a very good book too), this is sort of the non-futuristic version of it. While it's overtly cheesy (the contestants were clearly prepped to say catchy one-liners, and I'm positive the audience members were handed those "homemade" signs saying "I crush on Crush! JUSTICE for All!"), it's still great to see regular joe-shmoes compete against people who spend their lives doing nothing but work out.
I felt especially bad for the first chick to compete...she sells toilet paper for a living. TOILET PAPER. How the eff do you put that on your resume? "Account Executive for specialize paper products"?! And within a minute she jacked up her leg and had to back out.
I'm not a big fan of Hulk Hogan, maybe because of his divorce situation. Although I get the feeling that he doesnt' want the divorce, Linda does. But still, I saw Hogan Knows Best...what do you expect when you put your family on a reality show? (Then again, how else was Brooke going to get that record contract?). More importantly, I"m just annoyed with his bizarro posture, his tight black jeans, and the yellow straw he calls hair.
Ahh, whatever. I'll cut Terry "hulk" Hogan some slack.
The only downfall to all of this is that it makes me feel like SUCH a tub of lard. How do people with regular jobs and kids find time to bulk up? How many egg yolks do you have to consume to get that big? And wtf how quick IS a mongoose?

I can't believe you watched American Gladiators! :)
American Gladiator was on TV when we were kids, if my memory serves me correct, it was on after SNL. Remember back then it was a little too sensitive for young kids to watch during prime time, oh have times changed, SpikeTV has UFC often during prime time.
I think to become a toilet paper salesperson, you must answer a newspaper ad, I highly doubt back in high school when she met with her Guidance Councillor that they came to the conclusion she was best suited to become an Account Executive for specialized paper products. This reminds me of the Friends episode where Chandler had a bit of a career crisis and goes to some Career Councillor only to find out he's best suited for data analysis. :P
I don't think I'll check out American Gladiators, I can't stand Hulk Hogan.
Nope, after SNL when we were kids they showed Elvira (and whatever cheesy horror movie), and then Bleu Nuit.
